Jady Alvarez: Preschool Math, Writing, & Literacy Bundle Review

Have you heard of Jady Alvarez?

When my oldest daughter was a toddler I found out about The Montessori Method and loved the ideas behind it. One day, while I was researching Montessori activities on YouTube to get some ideas, I came across Jady Alvarez’s channel. I was hooked from the first video!

Here is a mother that is so incredibly passionate about providing a rich and engaging learning experience for her children. I was amazed at all of the fun activities she comes up with for her children! She really goes above and beyond and has a true gift.

Jady A Preschool Bundle

I have learned so much from Jady A and she has given me so much inspiration as to how I can make homeschooling fun for my kids. So, when I heard that she had created some preschool workbooks, I was excited to try them out!

Her books are called Preschool Beginner Math, Preschool Literacy, and Preschool Writing. My oldest daughter finished going through them earlier this year, and now I’ve just re-purchased them all for my youngest.

I’ll be sharing all about these books today, and telling you why I think they are so great! Keep reading to find out if they would be a good fit for your preschooler.

Preschool Literacy

First up is Preschool Literacy. This is a great book to prepare your child for reading. There are over 100 pages that will teach your child letter recognition, sounds, blends, and more.

pre k cut and paste worksheets

There is no writing necessary in this book – the activities involve either coloring, drawing lines, or circling. Whether your child can write their letters or not, they are still going to benefit a lot from this book.

The book is only in black and white, but there are lots of fun pictures to color! It is clearly laid out with a whole variety of activities that will keep your child engaged and interested.

I have used Jady’s resource in combination with 100 Easy Lessons to teach reading to my daughter. She loved this book and it has given her a great foundation for learning to read.

It includes:

  • Letter recognition
  • Beginning, middle and ending letter sounds
  • Letter blends
  • Teaches alphabetical order
  • Upper and lower case matching
  • Rhyming words
  • Activities to build vocabulary

Preschool Writing

This a great book to ease your child into learning how to write. They will learn to trace and write upper and lower case letters, and numbers.

At the beginning of the book is a lot of tracing – perfect for children that have never had any writing practice before. The book also starts off covering letters that have straight lines, before moving onto the letters that have curved lines.

This is such a logical order in which to teach your child how to write their letters! They will learn to write the easiest letters first, and then move onto the harder ones.

The book is over 100 pages long, so there is a lot of opportunity for your child to practice and even master their letter writing!

The book includes:

  • Tracing and writing letters (upper and lowercase)
  • Tracing and writing numbers
  • Fun pictures to color that go with the letter they are writing

Preschool Math

Like Preschool Literacy, this book also does not require any writing – the activities involve coloring, circling, tracing, and drawing lines. It’s perfect for kids that are 2-4 years old to learn their shapes, numbers, positions of objects, measurement, and more.

Once again this book is only black and white, but is full of fun, engaging pictures and a variety of different activities your child will love. It is over 100 pages long and will introduce many math concepts that will give your child a great foundation for maths.

This book includes:

  • Number recognition
  • Measurement – e.g. short and long etc.
  • Visual discrimination – e.g. matching like objects, identifying the odd one out etc.
  • Positions – e.g. between, left and right etc.
  • Counting 1-10 and tracing numbers
  • Shapes
  • Patterns
  • Simple drawing activities

Where To Buy Jady Alvarez Books

You can buy the books as an e-book bundle from her Teachers Pay Teachers store, where you can get a great discount. You can also buy the physical books on Amazon or Book Depository, which is what I did.

How Long Does It Take Per Day?

We usually did a couple of pages from each book, which took about 20-30 minutes per day. However, if you want to do more or less, then it’s entirely up to you and the needs of your child!

I’ve found that stickers always keep my daughter motivated. I recently bought a huge pack of stickers, and my daughter is always excited to choose one as a reward and place it on her completed page. I also recommend adding in hands-on activities, songs, and games to keep learning fun.

Jady A Preschool Bundle Review

After watching Jady’s homeschooling videos on YouTube, I knew that this mother of five knew what she was talking about!

After going through her preschool curriculum with my daughter and seeing how much she has learned, and how much she has enjoyed it, I can’t recommend it enough. It has really given her a great foundation for reading, writing, and math.

Jady Alvarez knows so much about child development and what children are capable of learning, given the right learning environment. I encourage you to check out her YouTube channel if you haven’t already, and the abundance of resources she has on her website as well. She is such an inspiration!

  1. Is the preschool curriuculum you mention the same as the preschool essential course she has listed on her website? I’m just curious if it’s the same as her YouTube videos.

    • Hi Tess,

I just had a look at the Preschool Essentials course on Jady’s website, and the books that I am reviewing here are the companion workbooks that she recommends purchasing to go along with her course. It looks like the Preschool Essentials course is a series of videos instructing parents how they can teach their preschoolers, while using the companion books and other various resources.

Hope that helps. All the best!
